CIARÁN FOY
Bio
Ciarán Foy went to film school in his native Dublin, Ireland. He made some award winning shorts and shortly after directed his debut feature film, which he also wrote, CITADEL.
CITADEL won the coveted Midnighters Audience Award when it premiered at SXSW in 2012. The film went on to win ELEVEN prestigious international prizes.
In early 2014 Ciarán wrote and directed a spec commercial for PlayStation, entitled “Our Shoes”. It won first place at the Young Directors Award at Cannes 2014, Best New Director at the Kinsale Shark Awards 2014 and was nominated for the D&AD Next Director Award in 2015. He has directed a number of commercials since, for clients such as Samsung and Tourism Ireland.
In late 2014 Ciarán directed the hit horror sequel SINISTER 2 for Blumhouse and Universal, which was released worldwide in August 2015 and grossed over $54m.
In 2017, with Intrepid Entertainment, he directed the horror thriller ELI for Paramount. It premiered on Netflix, October 2019.
That same month he directed two episodes of THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR – season two of the prestigious Netflix / Amblin TV show, THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE.
In 2020 Ciarán and co-writer Kyle Ward sold a sci-fi pitch to Amblin – AMERICAN REAPER – based on the comic by Pat Mills (JUDGE DREDD, 2000 A.D.).
Presently he has just directed three episodes of the new season of SWEET TOOTH, based on the DC comic, for Team Downey, WB and Netflix.
