New work from Sammy Khaild for the BBC Olympics

Sammy was recently working on matte paintings for the BBC Olympics opening cinematic ‘Trail’ with the amazing team at Painting Practice in London. You can see one of the images above, to see more please go to https://assembly.ie/portfolio/items/sammy-khalid/
This is what Sammy had to say about the job; I had the great pleasure of collaborating with the team at Painting Practice on the trailer for BBC Sport Rio Olympics 2016, with both Rafael Martin and Justin Hutchinson-Chatburn as Art Directors.
The work features a range of animals preparing for the Games before they transform into their heroic and spectacular human athlete counterparts. I created the environmental concepts and the finished matte paintings. It was a great project to work on.

Neil O’Connor composes for the new Connacht Rugby commercial

Our composer Neil O’Connor made the music on the new Connacht Rugby ad and we love it, a great build, atmospheric and strong. The name of the commercial is “Grassroots to Green Shirts” and the timing was perfect as Connacht won the Guinness Pro 12 the following week.

Neil Smyth composes for the Simon Community

Ireland is facing a devastating homeless crisis. 100 years on from the 1916 Proclamation, people are still fighting for their lives on our streets. It must end.

A powerful commercial written by Des Kavanagh, art directed by Kirk Bannon (Irish International) and directed by David Tynan (Sweet Media). Our composer Neil Smyth created the score for the ad, this is what he had to say about the project; “I enjoyed working directly with Dave Tynan on this, who had a clear idea of the mood he was going for. I tried to highlight the emotional weight of the ad without overpowering it, so that the viewer is not distracted from the important message contained within The Proclamation.”

Benjamin Cleary wins at the Academy Awards for Stutterer

Incredibly surreal to see Benjamin winning the Best Live Action Short Film Academy Award for Stutterer which he wrote, directed and edited. Fantastic film and a brilliant director, we’re over the moon to be representing him.
