Josh Dawson wins Film4Climate Global Competition

We are thrilled for our director Josh Dawson who came 1st in the Film4Climate Global Video Competition with his spot for Action Against Hunger. There was over 860 videos from 155 countries entered so this is a huge honour for Josh. He said; “It is amazing to have won an award that the great Bernardo Bertolluci judged and thought worthy of this prize. He and many others take great responsibility in our climate and I am happy I have been able to use the medium of film as an outlet to spread a message about the perils we will face if action isn’t taken.”

Gareth Averill and FORD

Gareth composed the score for the new FORD commercial which was directed by Stevie Russell and produced by Russell Curran Productions. Gareth said; “With Ford 100, it was great to work with long time collaborator, Stevie Russell once again. As a director, Stevie likes to explore the unusual, and it was a great pleasure to devise this ‘less-is-more’ piece of music to accompany Aidan Quinn’s perfectly off-beat delivery.”

New music from House of Hayduk for ECCO

House of Hayduk composed this super track for the new ECCO commercial. Mads (House of Hayduk) said of the process; “I had the pleasure of scoring this campaign with longtime collaborators and friends Noam Griegst (director) and Charlie Gaugler (producer) – last time we worked together was Cartier about a year ago. Its pretty rare to see such a commitment to  detail and quality these guys put into it. And- to top it off I worked with my favorite team in Toronto, and singer in Los Angeles.”

Ciarán Foy’s new ad for SAMSUNG 360

We love Ciarán’s new commercial for SAMSUNG 360 which launched last week to a fantastic response. Working with Great Guns in the UK and Cheil in Amsterdam they encapsulated the 360 world perfectly. This is what Ciarán had to say about it; “This was a fantastic project to work on. I love action and heart pulsing pieces, like my Playstation spot, and Samsung Live 360 had a great kinetic flow to it – going from world to world – that I immediately responded to and knew I could bring it to life in an exciting and engaging way.

Given that the Samsung 360 and Samsung VR were central to the spot, the initial idea was to shoot the entire spot shot in 360, but moving the camera within 360 is still prohibitively expensive to shoot and post, so we shot it in “regular” 2D. I wanted to give the viewer an experience of what it’s like being thrust into these different 360 words and it being an all encompassing trip. I wanted no obvious cuts, so that our POV (we are the hero, seeing it through his eyes) invisibly travels from one world to the next, like a non-stop and overwhelming ride of visual and audio engagement. Then when that ride is suddenly stopped – when he gets the call from his Mum – it should feel like coming out of a dream”.

Rebecca is delighted to be named runner up Young Businesswoman at the IMAGE Businesswoman Of The Year Awards 2016. Rebecca said; “The category of women in my group are all amazing businesswomen so I didn’t for a second think I was going to win or be named as runner up. It was a really lovely surprise and a great night surrounded by wonderful inspirational women”.

New commercials from Benjamin Cleary and Assembly for the Department of Justice and Equality

We were delighted to get the opportunity from Cawley Nea TBWA to make these two commercials for the Department of Justice and Equality tackling domestic violence. It’s a very prevalent issue in our country in the moment so it’s great to help raise awareness as to what people can do if they witness it. helps with awareness of the situation and also provides protection and support.
Ben did a fantastic job directing the ads. This is what he had to say about it; “It was great working on these commercials. It’s an issue I’ve been very aware of since I was a kid when my mum used to volunteer for women’s aid in Dublin so I was keen to work on them when it came in. The scripts were great with a strong, simple message. I hope the ads will raise awareness and start a dialogue because domestic abuse is unfortunately a very serious and widespread problem in this country. And hopefully they will help educate people about what to do if they witness domestic abuse. I think that’s a very important part of the solution.”

Assembly signs Maurice Pierse

We were delighted to welcome the latest addition to the Assembly team, Illustrator and storyboard artist Maurice Pierse. His work includes storyboarding for television, advertising and film, concept art, book illustration and comic art. His previous brand clients include Guinness, Budweiser, Vodafone, AXA, Bank of Ireland, Lotto and many more. Charley’s new commercial for MCB hits 4 million views

Charley Stadlers touching new commercial for MCB has hit over 4 million views online. The commercial tells a beautiful story about the friendship between a grandpa and his granddaughter. Charley said; We shot in Moscow, the budget was extremely tight and it was an interesting job to work on because everyone was under 30, the DOP just graduated, the stylist is 22, the casting director 23 etc. Overall I’m very happy with the film and the reaction it has been getting is great.
